CORPORATE AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Green Paper of The European Commission gives the following definition of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
‘A concept that serves the companies as a basis to integrate voluntarily social and environmental aspects into their business strategies and interrelations with all interested parties.’
Corporate Social Responsibility means the companies to work voluntarily, without being forced by law, to achieve social and environmental goals in their everyday business activities. The innovations in the fields of employee health care, business education and lifelong learning, as well as the environmental issues are also part of the CSR Program which involves discussions with many interested parties.
‘CSR is an expression of the understanding that each organization should take responsibility for its impact on the social groups with which it interacts. It is a long-standing commitment on the part of business to develop its business honestly and responsibly, to contribute to its economic development, while at the same time helping to improve the lives of its employees and their families, the local community and society as a whole, EC acceptable for both business and development. ‘
